Guidelines for Machine Readable Passport (MRP

[ Kindly note that for submission of Machine Readable Passport (which still have the validity) renewal applications , the applicants are requested to appear physically to submit their application. Appointment:

Please send email to consular.copenhagen@mofa.gov.bd or call +45 39 64 33 03 from 10.00 am- 4.00 pm (Monday to Friday) for appointment or to cancel/change the appointment.

Personal Appearance

Applicants, including children, may need to be present physically for bio-metric enrolment/submission of documents. Kindly check with the Embassy.

Fee:

For applicants living in Denmark

DKK 770 (Seven Hundred and Seventy Danish Kroner) 

DKK 230 (Two Hundred and Thirty Danish Kroner),for students studying at University level and do not have permanent residency in Denmark 

For applicants living in Estonia and Iceland:

DKK 820 [additional dkk 50 as bank charge], 

DKK 280 [additional dkk 50 as bank charge], for students studying  at University level and do not have permanent residency in Estonia/Iceland 

All fees are non-refundable

Students must submit relevant documents [Student ID/card, Letter from Institution etc] that testifies their studentship. All documents must be translated in English]

Please mention the name of the applicant while transferring the amount to avoid misplacement of payment. PAYMENT MUST BE DONE SEPARATELY FOR EACH APPLICANT.

New Passport (For new-born baby/ person having hand-written passport only/in case of non-availability of MRP data in the central server for re-issuance):

Please apply on-line at www.passport.gov.bd to complete your on-line MRP application form (Use Denmark in the ''Applying in'' menu. Application must be submitted to the Embassy within 15 days of on-line application) . The following documents should be submitted:

• Printed Application form duly signed. In case of child, father/mother shall sign;
• Copy of information pages of existing Passport (if any);
• Copy of Birth Certificate or National ID card;
• 02 copies of recent passport size (45 mm X 55 mm) coloured photographs with white background;
• One copy of father’s and mother’s coloured photographs, if the applicant is below 15 years of age;
• Original Passport (if applicable);
• Money Receipt (must be deposited/transferred at least 05 working days before the appointment date);
• Original Marriage Certificate attested by Bangladesh Foreign Ministry in case of changing marital status. Request for change in name/parent’s name/date of birth shall not be entertained; and,  
• Copy of Health Card/Resident Permit.

Renewal/reissue of passport (For applicants having MRP and intending to renew passport)

Please bring the following documents on your appointment day:

• Printed single-page application form duly filled and signed. Click here to download the form.  
• Copy of existing Passport (information page); It is not mandatory to submit the existing passport while submitting the renewal application. You will be requested to submit the old passport once you visit the Embassy to collect the new passport.
• 01 copy of recent passport size colored photographs with white background
• Money Receipt (deposited/transferred at least 05 working days before visiting Embassy for submission of documents);
• Original Marriage Certificate attested by Bangladesh Foreign Ministry in case of changing marital status. Request for change in name/parent’s name/date of birth shall not be entertained; and,  
• Copy of Health Card/Resident Permit.

Delivery of Passport

It usually takes 7-8 weeks to deliver the passport. You will be notified by SMS when your passport is ready to be delivered. Status of the application can also be checked  here. Kindly note that passports are printed at the Department of Immigration and Passport in Dhaka.

You must bring the following documents while collecting your MRP from the Embassy:

• Delivery Slip provided at the time of enrolment
• Existing Passport

Applicants from Estonia and Iceland

• In case of renewal of MRP passports personal appearance may be exempted for the Bangladeshi nationals living in Estonia and Iceland. In that case, documents should be sent by post with a return envelope (prepaid postal envelope with tracking option). However, the applicant must be present in person in case of expired passport for taking bio metrics. 
• Payment of 820 DKK [For students 280 DKK] should be sent to Embassy account which includes bank charge.
• Embassy will send the passport by post when it is ready, and delivery will be notified by email. Applicants will be asked to send their previous passport (if not sent before), when the new passport arrives at the Embassy.
• This is kindly note that Embassy will not take any responsibility for misplacement of the passport by postal services.
